Head tilted to the right, little pink tongue sticking out… Kaddu is one of the cutest dogs at VOSD! He was surrendered to us this January and has adjusted to life at our sanctuary like a fish to water.
What makes him special is that he is completely blind – his optic nerves were damaged when he met with a car accident as a puppy. He was dearly cared for by a family for over a year ever since, but his blindness made him bite unpredictably out of fear.
Every dog has a safe space at VOSD, whether they are aggressive or blind. They are handled by an efficient team of caregivers who help them adapt to the environment. In Kaddu’s case we learnt over time that he isn’t comfortable with people but accepts small or senior dogs around him. So he lives in the 10,000 sq ft in-house VOSD Hospital and has a dedicated room to eat and sleep in. During the day, he is left out to bask in the sun or sniff and play with other dogs. For a dog who couldn’t have lived on the streets, nor could adapt to a home, we were Kaddu’s only hope at a safe and happy life.
Just like him, hundreds of other special needs and aggressive dogs reside at the VOSD Sanctuary & Hospital. To help us protect them and ensure their lifelong care, please donate INR 5,000 (~$63) one-time or monthly for their food & medical expenses: https://vosd.in/active-campaigns/monthly-expenses/
