VOSD SANCTUARY & HOSPITAL
The VOSD SANCTUARY™ is the World’s Largest No-Kill Dog Sanctuary with a World-Class Residential Hospital that has helped 8000+ critically injured and abandoned dogs. VOSD has also administered over 250,000 treatments and has 900+ permanent resident dogs that live here for life.
Did you know we fly / drive / bring by train 200 rescued dogs from 30+ cities across India each year and a similar number from Bangalore. VOSD only takes dogs nobody else will take when they’re beaten, broken, mutilated, old or aggressive. If a dog has no home in India they have one at VOSD. And they have the best care in the world.
They come home to one of the first no-kill Dog Sanctuary in India, arguably the largest in the world but definitely the finest. We’ve our own fully equipped 10,000+ sq feet hospital, surgeries and recovery area. 3 large ambulances and a pickup dedicated for the dog’s needs. There’s 50+ individual 100-200 sq ft kennels, underground drainage, underground irrigation and underground electrical wiring over many acres. 3 swimming pools, a jet powered hydrotherapy pool and an (under construction) agility park for dogs.
about vosdFEED STRAY DOGS CAMPAIGN
At the best of times, life is a struggle for India’s stray dogs. With the nationwide lockdown that started on 24 March but the actual shutdown being from 22 March 2010, this was a death knell. Stray dogs survive on garbage, leftover food, and help from feeders. However, hundreds of organizations and individuals started working in very difficult times to ensure that stray dogs in their areas were being fed at least once a day or alternate days.
With your support, VOSD supported stray dog feeders across India during the lockdown.

WHY DID VOSD GET INVOLVED
When VOSD started in 2013, we started with enabling others. Since then we have distributed over 15 computers to various NGOs across India, gifted 2 ambulances, adopted over 200 dogs from NGOs across India that could not be housed, built a kitchen for a shelter in Bangalore, built a perimeter for another in New Delhi, etc.
When the lockdown started we were struggling to secure our own supply of 10 tonnes of food a month and 15,000 litres of water a day- all of which is bought and transported to us. By 15 April we had steadied ourselves and we were already helping with the fundraising of two organizations, one in Bangalore and another in Siliguri. However, to help more directly, VOSD announced an emergency grant of Rs 200,000 for individuals and organizations that feed stray dogs to help with the escalated costs and volumes through the lockdown. All these funds were engaged in the first 3 hours of the announcement on VOSD’s Facebook page!

HOW YOUR CONTRIBUTION HAS HELPED
VOSD is in a unique position because you trust us, and we have always used our reach to do wonderful things for stray dogs. With your help, we have been able to help dogs across India:
- 100% of the proceeds went to other organizations/individuals and these funds were not for use by VOSD. VOSD is really the platform that is generating these funds for others who feed stray dogs.
- All individuals and organizations were verified by VOSD and funds transferred after reference and due diligence.
- Amounts disbursed were proportional to the volume of dogs they fed, weighted with the references available with us. All disbursements were done on the same day and funds were credited to benefactors typically in 1 business day.
- All benefactors are listed here and so are pointers to their work. None of them are personally connected to VOSD.
